Love Where You Live Photography Competition

£500 worth of prizes to be won!

One year on, the Big Tidy Up is celebrating its first birthday and to mark the occasion we want you to show us what it is that makes you love where you live - all you need is a camera!

The Big Tidy Up has partnered with recycling organisation Alupro to offer five prizes worth a total £500 for the best pictures in two categories:

• people having an impact on where we live
• local landscape and wildlife

Think about taking interesting pictures of your Big Tidy Up, volunteers cleaning paths or beaches, creating art out of rubbish - and don’t forget to recycle all the aluminium drinks cans you collect, because it’s 20 times more energy and carbon efficient than making them from virgin metal.

Be imaginative and creative as you like. You will be judged on how powerful your image communicates the importance of your local area to you.

So, whether you’re a budding photographer, tidy up enthusiast or just someone who likes taking snaps - we’re waiting for your photograph.

Please remember to include a short story with each of your photographs, as we want to know as much as possible about why you decided to take the picture and what it means to you.

Two winning entries in each of the two categories will receive £100 each, with the overall winner receiving another £100.

And the top 10 entries in each category will be put forward for Alupro’s national Love where you Live competition, with a prize pot of £10,000 !
