Shelley Gardens Gets a Makeover

A Big Tidy Up event in February 2009 marked the start of a major project to regenerate Shelley Gardens in Chesham, Buckinghamshire.

Members of Chesham Environment Group, Chesham Youth Centre and the Pond Park Community Association took part in the tidy up alongside Shelley Gardens footpath, and spent four hours blitzing the area of litter.

The Association is working in conjunction with Paradigm Housing, Chiltern District Council and Chesham Town Council, and has raised over £19,000 to undertake the park’s regeneration. Work has included improving fencing, carrying out tree works, creating new areas of planting and running a community art project – culminating in the installation of a piece of public art. Back
